Isn’t it funny how hard it is to write about yourself? As we both sat down to give you a glimpse into who we are as people and teachers, it became apparent to both of us that we felt uncomfortable with this task. So… we decided to mix it up and write about each other.

Stacey always says I am the Goose to her Maverick, but I think it is still up for debate.  Who says I can’t be Maverick?  Oh let’s be real.  She’s Maverick.  If Maverick also raises ducklings and removes wiggly teeth.   As the more refined half of this duo, Stacey carries herself with grace.  Her poise and prudence are how she is able to get away with some of the greatest pranks of all time.  She has a gloriously twisted sense of humor and a passion for anything that comes in the form of a book.  Kids love her and teachers want to be her.  She is the smooth-talking, risk-taking, hot shot.  I consider myself so lucky to be her wingman.

She is the Goose to my Maverick and the Laverne to my Shirley. Brennan is free form and easy going- both in life and in the classroom. She loves a good book festival and isn’t afraid to stalk authors or illustrators. Just ask Jon Sciezka and Mike Curato! She is especially fond of Mo Willems and even dons elephant and piggy noses- although not at the same time! I can appreciate her simple pleasures of lemon bars, bubble water, and rollerskating. She is one of the most well read people I know, which makes teaching with her a joy and a catalyst for growth- hers, mine, and ours!
